The square, with its playful statue of Bacchus, is reminiscent of Romewith its pines (also called sea pine trees). From here, you can clearly see the brutalist portico of the Doritis pasta factory, which since the mid-forties has been supplying Limassol residents with Italian-style pasta. The house has been abandoned for many years.
The facade of a one-story late 19t-century mansion with three arches and neo-Byzantine carved decoration also overlooks the square (address: ArgirouDrousioti 8).
According to the historian Christakis Serghides, it housed the Third City School for some time. The memorial plaque tells us that the building was restored at the expense ofthe President of the Republic of Cyprus, Glaouco Cleridi, in 1993.
